Founder Tool Comparisons
Picking the right tool matters — but most comparison sites earn affiliate commissions from every option they review, which creates obvious bias. These comparisons are written to help you make the right choice for your business, with transparent disclosures on any affiliate links.
How these comparisons are built
Each comparison starts from the vendors' own published pricing pages, linked so you can check the current figures yourself, and works through a concrete scenario rather than a feature checklist. Feature grids make every product look similar; what actually decides a choice is what a specific tool costs at your volume and whether it does the one thing you need it for.
Two habits are worth carrying into any of them. Price the switch, not just the product — migration effort, re-integration work and the contract you are already in are usually larger than the monthly difference between two options. And compare at your own numbers, not at the vendor's example: the cheapest payment processor at $20 a transaction is frequently not the cheapest at $200, because a fixed per-transaction fee behaves very differently at each end of that range. Where a comparison has an interactive calculator, enter your real figures before drawing a conclusion.
Where an affiliate link appears it is labelled on the page. Affiliate relationships never determine ranking or recommendation — see the Terms of Use for the full position.

When a comparison isn't the answer
For payment processors in particular, the fee difference is often smaller than it looks and the right decision turns on something else entirely — whether you need subscription billing, which currencies you sell in, whether you are already on Shopify, and what your accountant already reconciles. Use the calculators to size the difference in money, then decide on the features. A processor that is $0.40 cheaper per transaction is a poor trade if it cannot bill your customers monthly.
